This is the debut album from Regardless
In The Light of Truth has been the work of one man, it took 1 year to finish. The album is one big song with 14 movements, it flows from song to song with no break. The whole album is based in one big story:
The story is about a 65 year old man that gets kicked from his lifetime job and realizes that he has done nothing actually productive in his whole life, that he has been in a pointless path that his parents forced him to walk in. It occurs to him to try to make up for the lost time. In his try to fulfill this goal he gets run over by a car and soon after that he gets to the hospital. The doctors try to save him but they know nothing is really working so they try to calm down the man with some anesthesia. By the bad use of anesthesia (and the fact that he is and old man) he starts hallucinating while it starts to make effect. He sees a evil looking man that is following him, he tries to run away but he can do nothing. As the man gets closer, he realizes that the strange evil looking man is himself. The man disappears and he starts feeling a strange kind of peacefulness that shortly turns to melancholy. He starts thinking about the time lost in his life. In his deathbed he sees the reaper entering the room, this is no hallucination. The reaper tries to take him to hell for his sins, but he won't accept his death, so he gets sent to the purgatory. In the purgatory the character goes through different phases.
He goes through negation, anger, bargaining, depression. Then he finally accepts his death and ask the reaper to take him away from that place. The act of acceptance made death think about giving him a second chance in life and so it does. He gets a brand new start to be in the path he wants to.
